New Narratives: Contemporary Art From India
We stumbled off the Megabus and into Chicago at 5:30 in the morning, too early for anything but blueberries by the lake. Later we slipped into the Chicago Cultural Center and found this fantastic show.
Kevin Nance of the Sun Times has some good things to say.
Unfortunately we missed the Jeff Wall show at the Art Institute, maybe next time.
Here are some of the artists featured at the Cultural Center. I highly recommend going.
Sheba Chhachhi
Subodh Gupta
Ranbir Kaleka
Pushpamala N
Shilpa Gupta's interactive installation kept me silently captivated for many minutes
also she has an on-line multi-religion blessing station
Hema Upadhyay
Anju Dodiya
Jitish Kallat

Megabus to Chicago
The reading was wonderful, Chicago was a blast, unfortunately we didn't get to see much work, as you can see I only have photos of millennium park. We did however get to see a fantastic show of contemporary Indian art at the Cultural Center (photos soon) as well as some old friends and plan on a quick return to check out schools.
