After loving the work for such a long time I have come across the man himself, or at least a film of the man. He is not much how I had imagined i.e. long and gaunt with a grit of irish brogue and a french lilt. Instead he appears smallish and delicately accented. It's marred my idealization of the artist a little bit. the work still stands of course.
